Recently there was some heated discussion on a subject my spouse wrote.
She is a real person, an intelligent human being, and a person who spent 42 years in the medical arena caring for thousands of humans suffering from physical and psychological misfortunes.
This was her first entry into this forum. And some of you reacted with malice.
I have been living abroad for many years and have personally visited over 100 countries.
I have contributed to a number of forums in other countries.
Yes, things did get , shall we say out of control when a subject became to personal.
The moderators acted efficiently and rapidly to censor any topic they felt was close to abuse.
At no time did any expat ever make the wild claim that a particular forum was solely for the purpose of examining the local area. And further, freedom of expression and speech were never in jeopardy. No one ever suggested that we stop any Expat from voicing their opinions.
I know that America like any other country, mine included, Canada has and will never be perfect for others.
The USA has always been the first country to respond with assistance in every natural disaster. Yet that fact it never referred to. Americans, like many other nations fought valiantly to preserve our freedoms, all those freedoms, including the freedom of speech.
I do not apologize for what she chose to write.
It was something she felt was worth writing about.
She will honour your requests ( for those of you who responded ) and leave your forum. That said, I will write whatever I choose to here on this forum.
You can choose to ignore it or not. That's referred to as freedom of choice.
