Fly or Dirve

Hi ,
My 4 person family will be coming to panama in july. Our plan is to stay PC for a few days then go to Pedasi for some sun and fun.
Our challenge is do we fly or drive.
Our desire is to make it as painless as possible. I have read that you can get flight tickets to pedal for 70 dollars round trip. WE however cannot find tickets at this price.
We have also heard all the hard luck stories of travel by car, insurance, tickets, no road signs, needing to know the lingo etc. But then we realize that we would need a car in pedal to get around and eat and so on.
We would love to hear some suggested solutions to our getting around challenges .
