Panama modifies temporary visas

Yesterday by Executive Decree 509, Panama reduced the duration of temporary visas (carné) from 12 months to 6 months. This will affect all those applying for permanent residency - like the pensionado visa - who in the past obtained the multiple entry visa while waiting for their permanent visa to be finalized.
The application fee also went up to $50.
As noted in an earlier post, immigration policies are changing in Panama.
