Driving into Costa Rica?

Hi,
I am considering relocating to the Panama City area. I want to bring my car, a 2013 Lexus es350 with 100K miles. Driving is a favorite past time.

Is it easy to drive into Costa Rica? Is it easy to tour Panama itself? Is road quality good? I see Google Maps is in Panama which is interesting. I think it would be fun to drive about and visit Airbnb's, etc.

And, another question, I haven't looked into this well but is there a big import tax on bringing the car in?
