welcome to the forum. Paraguay is currently a country that could offer you what you need. It is relatively a safe country, we have a lot of affection for foreigners and I think we are one of the friendliest countries with the least problems of racism on the entire continent. The cost of living is very good, one of the best in the region. The weather could be something new for you because we have many days with a lot of heat and humidity.

I am a United States citizen that has learned enough about the coming troubles in my country to want to move abroad, permanently. I fear that a new totalitarian regime will prevent migration in the near future, so I'm looking into it now.
I am nearing retirement, but I'm not confident that I'll be able to collect the social security that the government offers. I am able to perform light work, but not hard labor at my age.
I can sell my house here in the states, but I am looking to discover how long that money will last me in my new country of choice
I do not currently speak Spanish, but am willing to learn.

1. Should I wait until I am fluent in Spanish before relocating to Paraguay? 2. Where should I move within Ecuador to balance out my top three concerns: a) Security - I don't want to be somewhere that I am likely to fall victim to criminals, especially those that hate gringos. b) Cost of Living - Since I don't have any source of income presently, what advice can you give for a semi-retired tech worker that can't find work in America due to ageism, wokeism. c) Sustainability - While I believe the United States will experience great unrest and maybe even civil war, I also believe the financial collapse will affect all societies globally. I seek to be close to where my food is grown and/or raised, perhaps even have a small farm myself if I am able. 3. Please describe the cultural values of Ecuador, dominant religions. 4. Please describe the scope of government, would you call it a nanny state, with many govt handouts? or more merit based with volunteers providing the bulk of the safety net for the disadvantaged. 5. Please describe police enforcement, is it a police state, where there is no right to privacy?
I'd appreciate any insights.

Paraguay is a great plan B. Now that Europe and The US are overrun by Soros immigrants you need to move. As said. Fresh water, better food, friendly people and a lot of Sun.
