Hello! It’s lovely to be part of this group and thank you allowing us to join. We’re moving to just outside Girona next September and are initially staying at an Airbnb to find our feet for the first month. After that we intend to rent a flat. I’m British and my wife is Spanish but for the last 7 years has lived in the UK. I have some questions I’d be grateful for advice on: 1. We won’t be selling our UK house for the first 2 years so is there any need to inform our UK bank, the authorities and other services of the move and the change of address at this stage? 2. What is the process for exchanging my driving licence for a Spanish one and how long does it all take? 3. Register on the Padron - should we leave this until we have rented an apartment and have a more permanent address or should this be done straight away by using the Airbnb address we’ll be staying at in the first month? 4. NIE application - should this be done before arrival? How long does the process take? 5. Any advice and recommendations for a car leasing company to contact? Many thanks ??
