Info on Krakow vs. Wroclaw

I am an American living in Spain for 8 yrs. with my own business and want to take a 3 month break from December 2006-February 2007. I am considering spending the time either in Wroclaw or Krakow. I would need an apt. for short term rental with the possibility of hooking up my laptop to internet and a phone. I want to keep working, but more than anything else would like to study some Polish and German, meet new people, learn about the culture, have fun, etc. I want a city with an lots of possibilities in terms of going out and having fun, meeting new people, etc. Any advice on the benefits of one city vs. another for 3 months with my goals in mind? I am 35 and not married and no children. Thanks.
