Disappointed

We arrive here a week ago with the intention of buying a home. After seeing a few we were told that the morgage would need to be paid off by age 70. This is not possible for us since we are still in the US and own a home there. Plus being used to 30 year morgages 8 yrs is a shock. So now our plans to retire here are up in the air. The whole process of purchasing a home to begin with was bad. I guess adjustments in our thinking are in order.
