So my questions are: since I am travelling from Canada with my passport, I know I can only stay in the country for a maximum of six months (180 days). Do I need another type of visa from Scotland/the UK? I have found conflicting information on the government websites.
I plan to purchase travel and medical insurance and my provincial health card for health care. However, I am unsure if I need to consider any other healthcare requirements. I will bring the allowed medications in amounts according to the government websites and a medical device that I use nightly. DO I try to register with a GP before I get to Scotland, or as soon as I get there?
Financially, I am unsure if opening a bank account would be advisable. I know that fees for exchanging money can add up quickly and not to use the exchange offices at the airports. I have read that I can use cash points/ ATMs as they will provide me with local currency and potentially take out more significant amounts to reduce transaction and exchange fees and foreign fees that my bank will charge.
I look forward to your responses and connecting with other community members.
