Move to Scotland

As an American citizen, is it really possible to retire in Scotland? My husband and I are both retired and in excellent health. Our daughter now lives in England and I wish to be closer to her. My husband has strong Scottish lineage and we visited Scotland several years ago. We loved the country and the people were so friendly. Obviously, we would have to consider cost of living and access to health care. Our daughter lives in the Derby area of England.
