madrid hotel

hi everyone! my boyfriend(french,28) and i(american,25) are heading down from paris to madrid from april 28 - may 2, wondering if anyone could personally recommend a hotel, b&b, etc. some place centrally located to the sights?

if you'd like to meet up for friendship, (plus it'd be great to get tips from someone living in madrid), please let me know. we just moved to paris, lived in sydney, aus, for the past year and a half, before that we lived in boston. my boyfriend speaks fluent spanish as well. in return, we could be your gracious host in paris one day.
