Retiring in Barcelona

Post New Topic

Hello, I am an American with an Irish passport and I am thinking of retiring in Spain. At this point, I am simply hoping to make connections with anyone like me who has done this already.

Also, what are your thoughts on using an agency that specializes in helping ex-pats relocate or retire to another country?

Thanks!

Hi
Two things. You shouldn’t have to pay fees to relocate to Spain. It’s not that hard especially for EU members. Also you know that Barcelona is a very expensive part of Spain?

Do what works for you... unlike the US, you are paying the rental agents at least a month's rent for their services, so call SEVERAL and see what each can find. Be very clear what you are looking to rent, and walk around in the area and call the numbers from the signs in the windows.
