Spain and Italy, where to stay with kids?

We are looking for some advice as to the best places to stay with young children in terms of safety, entertainment and appeal, as well as more specifc insight such as options for internet.

We're not set yet on where we're looking at settling down, although have earmarked likely the Valencia region in Spain and anywhere coastal is always preferrable as our kids love the beach and water.

We were thinking of staying in each place for about three months at a time or so, so are looking at medium-term rentals and as we'll only have one income, places with reasonable prices would be preferred.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
