Best Timeline

Hi Everyone!

I want to thank you in advance and let you know I appreciate your time and highly value your opinion.

I am retired in the U. S. and planning to move to Spain. I’m just curious about what the best timeline of events looks like. What is the best order in which to undertake ALL the tasks in preparation for this transition?

Do I sell my home first? Or do I sell it while my Visa process is ongoing? When do I begin the process of renting a home in Spain? I believe I need to have this completed when I apply for the Visa? In this timeline, when do I apply for an NIE?

Should I be ready to leave the U.S. the moment my visa comes through? Whew! Lots of details.
