Two factor verification

I am planning to move to Thailand from the US in a few months. One problem that is of concern to me is how will I double verify when I wish to log into an online US bank or US credit card account when I live in Thailand. Usually double verification (also called two factor verification/authorization) is accomplished by receiving a code number by text. Banks or credit cards will not send a text message to a foreign phone number. So what should I do? I would very much appreciate learning from other expats as to how they handle this situation.
