Moving to the Netherlands

My husband and I want to move to Amsterdam but we are having trouble finding good information. I am US Army veteran with sufficient monthly income and health benefits, can we just go there and find some kind of job while wait for our permitts? We are willing to get a job until then, I am also a Medical Assistant/Certified Phlebotomist what is the job market like for this profession?
