Work permit for digital nomads

I am a South African looking for a remote position in the Netherlands or EU. My partner is an EU citizen and we want to live in the Netherlands.

1. Can Dutch or EU companies employ remote workers living in non-EU countries? Has anyone done this? (I'd ideally like to start the position before we move to the Netherlands)

2. If they can, what type of a work permit do I need to apply for once I move to the Netherlands? (My partner is an EU citizen)
