Relocating to Turkey

Ive been to Turkey a few times now.Ive stayed at Kalkan and Kas on the med coast and fell in love with the area.Im looking at retiring somewhere sunny and warm and safe within the next five years.I own a house in Spain, but have seen prices go up alot there in last few years, cost of living etc and its becoming as nearly as expensive as the uk.To retire or work in Spain, you have to prove you have a minimum wage coming in which is about £7000 per couple.
Ive tried looking on the web for info on moving, relocating to the med coast of Turkey to see how it compares to Spain. Is it hard to get residency and do you need a mimimum income or amount in bank before they let you in?Is Turkey safe, med coast? It it easy to settle in and make friends etc,do Turks welcome you?Are the hospitals and health care systems any good and do you need private health cover like in Spain?Does the unstable currency upset your savings and quality of life?
I would consider selling my house in Spain as it has done well up in value and moving to Turkey as i believe properties on med coast are alot cheaper etc.I love the area and found it great value and was hoping to find out what life would really be like in Turkey on med coast. What is the cost of living etc?I would have enough money to buy a place outright,,, so i would just have basic bills, heating, gas, electric, food etc...Love to hear of your views, experiences of it all.
Im looking for a great value place to retire to in the sun with friendly people where i feel relaxed and safe. Does med coast fit my bill?
Thanks for any info
