Hello

My name is Milly and i have lived in fethiye now for several years (originally from UK)

There are several people who have moved here with children. There are schools that english people send their kids to but i know that they usually pay for the school simply because there are english speaking teachers there.

If you log onto www.degalyian.com and go into the message board you will find a good Turkish site. There are many people on it who have moved here or are in the process of moving so you could gain lots of valuable information from it.

Also if there is anything you want to ask me please feel free to do so.

best wishes
milly

Hi Milly,

We would like to live in Turkey, is buying the very expensive Residency Visa, the only way to do it?

I know you can leave the Country every 90 days to renew the holiday visa, but seems a pain.

I read somewhere for other countries they allow people to entre under a sort of Retirement Residents Visa.

Do you know anything? What do you do?

Kind regards

Karul

hi Karul

Yes you can leave the country every 3 months to renew your visa (most people in my area go to Rhodes for the day)
The residency visas have increased a lot recently. The good thing about having your RV is that you do not need to go to all the trouble of going out of the country every 3 months (difficult in winter as sometimes the boats do not go)
The residency visa also entitles you to buy a car, and to ship your furniture etc from Britain to Turkey. Without RV you cannot do any of these things.
