How about living in Turkey

Hi, I'm a single dad with a full time job, a little money saved(no not a lot) but ultimately very unhappy with life and worried, not only what I'll likely never have here in the U.S. as it is but also the future of this country and the direction it's heading in. I'm worried about the future of the U.S. but even if there weren't the case, I'll never have here what I can get else ware, at least if I do it before the USD dies. I recently found Turkey on some youtube travel channels, anyone here moved to Turkey from the U.S., how was/is it? Are you financially better off, are you freer? Are you happier. How hard was it to make the move and what can I expect. Thanks for any and all replies.

Greetings from beautiful Antalya, Turkey. I have been here one year after living in Cuenca, Ecuador for seven years, lived in 6 other countries for more than two years, plus visited 32 of them. Each to their own but I love living here for many reasons, not mainly the LOW cost of living ( I am an ex Aussie, 80 yo). It is SO MUCH better than Cuenca in many, many ways, I was concerned about Turkey being 99% Muslim but found it to be a big plus...one being nearly zero crime and the kindness shown to me and stray dogs and cats as well. :) Contact me if you want more info. I am 81 yo and been to around 33 countries and now quietly reposing, enjoying each day after my morning Sea swims, even through the winter, That said, I am not much of a companion for you guys in your 'traillings'. and wish you every joy and health., Thanks again for your contact. Hello - I too am thinking about a move and for similar reasons that you stated. The U.S. is full of strife and hatred right now it seems and, having lived abroad before, I'm feeling the pull. If you have info on research please share as will I. My husband and I are planning a trip there in October and staying outside of Side for a couple of weeks. And thank you Gerry Hagan for your info!
