Other Odessa Oblast Cities

Can anyone recommend any other cities in Odessa Oblast that might be nice and safe to live in other than Odessa. Maybe Yuzhne or Illichivs'k? Looking for an alternate location to research for possible future home with lower propery costs than Odessa. I was really shocked how homes, propery, and apartments still hold such a high desired purchase value in Odessa after all that has happened over the last two years in Ukraine. Maybe I am very wrong!! But, I have a difficult time spending the same money I have spent in Syracuse Utah/USA on property and a home, in a country that has had Ukraine's issue's the last two years. Along with it's currency value drop 3x over the last two years!! Willing to consider alternate cities to save $$$. Any suggestions?

I lived in Ukraine for 5.5 yrs now. 1.5 yrs in Nikolaev, 1 year in Odessa, 6 months in Kiev and 3 months in Kharkiv, after which I left and moved to Yuzhne, Odessa Oblast. I have visited the small city of 30k population located on a square mile, before but after checking out all the big cities, which I could not stand, I packed up and moved to Yuzhne. I love it, for 2,500 uah, I rent a 2 bedroom apartment over looking the Sea, Port, and across the sea I see Odessa. Odessa out of all the cities I lived in was my top choice, full of cutlure and not stuck in the 90's/Soviet Union like Nikolaev or too much hustle and bustle like Kiev and Harkiv, but still was a little bit too much. Until I rememberd Yuzhne that I visited in the summers over the years. I love it here. You get to live by the sea, rent a 2 bedroom condo for $100 a month. And its not as chaotic as the other places. The energy here is amazing and no public transport or taxis etc. You can walk across town in max, 20 minutes. If you want to spice up your month take a weekend and go to odessa, 60uah bus trip, do your shopping or bar hopping, or whatever and dont have to pay the price of living there or deal with the chaos. Since even when I lived there, I only got out one weekend a month anyways to enjoy the City. If you find yourself in Yuzhne, msg me I would like to meet. I hope you can msg on here or you can email me

Everything is made to "destroy white society," with political correctness, and make the world more third ,(low ) class. Who wants to reside in India or Bangledesh. I had coffee with the old black fellows this morning,"the IDIOT Vietnam character was NOT there with his insane b.s. how the u.s. is so goody , so it was o.k.The black guys are over 70, and they will say: things will never get better here. Esp. for the black males of the future. Just the way the world is bro.. the facts of life. money does the talkin. If they can handle a football, or sing, they have a future. Winter comes in tomorrow from Minnesota. good luck to you all out there on the eastern front!

the euros still not a going concern...that whole experiment is not out of the woods yet....the Greek situation (portugal and spain too) underlined that....Britain smelled a rat early and steered clear...for these reasons I cannot believe Ukraine allowed to enter 'Euro" until the euro-zone itself on stronger ground.....if and when economy's periodically hit head winds it is not possible for euro-members to deflate their currency in order to boost their trading competitiveness...I'm not a fan personally..just my opinion...
When I saw putin, Poroshenko, merkel and the italian head of state(?) exit the room from which they were thrashing out a "ceasefire deal"...the expression on Poroshenko's face told me he is the right man for Ukraine at this time...he is genuinely concerned and passionate about Ukraine's interests going forward
