Work and Visa's in Dubai.

I currently work in London and have been offered a position with a company in Dubai who will take care of all visa requirements and the like. My girlfriend will be moving with me but has not managed to arrange employment. How easy is it for her to find work when in Dubai, what paperwork does she need, how long can she stay, generally how does it all work ? She is a PA / Secretary.
We have contacted the Embassy but to be honest they seem to be confussing the issue with red tape, how does it actually work ?
