Dating in UAE/ Dubai

I am an American/ Italian guy newly moving to Dubai, any feedbacks on meeting ladies in the region? I noticed that many ladies are moving to Abu Dhabi,,,,,,,is that too far from Dubai? I also heard that many sites that sponser match making are blocked in the region!!!
Is that true?
