teachers in Abu Dhabi

I hear that US teachers working in Abu Dhabi in the desert areas particularly are treated very badly by the other Nationals running the schools. I also hear that the students and some parents are rude and disrespectful toward the teachers. i hear the kids love to hit and spit on people. is this normal?.
