Jeans/Boots for Antigua in May

This may be the most ridiculous question ever posted here, but I am arriving in Antigua this Wed and my length of stay is uncertain, though I plan to move there and could stay at least a month or more.
My question is given the onset of rainy season, should I bother bringing jeans and my Dr. Martens for the wet cobblestone streets?
Or will it be too hot for such attire?
I am a male so the understandable cultural/safety concerns about attire I've seen discussed here are not really an issue. I'm definitely bringing good walking shoes anyway,
I pack extremely lightly and only bring carryons.
Thank you very much for any perspective you can give me.
