Is anyone there?

I am trying to find information on moving to Malta but the postings here are old. I'd like to know if it is still a good place to retire and how difficult it will be to find a place to rent long term. I'll be moving from the US but I don't think that is relevant. I don't know where I'll want to live, but I can't seem to get enough current information to decide if I should even make a trip to check it out as a possible place to live.
Any current information would be greatly appreciated. I notice that most posts receive no responses.
