Anybody have any recommendations for medical insurance?
I live in Cebu. I'm a US citizen, 66, and my (Filipina) wife is 39.
Mostly I want protection against some catastrophic condition, like having a stroke or being in an accident. Not so worried about routine doctor visits.
I've talked to several insurance companies and some won't cover me because I'm told old and have pre-existing conditions. Others have very low maximum benefits for the year. Like several have maximum benefit of like P200,000. I have enough cash in the bank that if I had a P200,000 bill I would just pay it, I wouldn't need insurance.
