Our new Lists feature let's you create lists of your favorite things to do, places to live and travel, restaurants, hotels, businesses and more.

Below you'll find step-by-step instructions for creating a list and sharing it with others on Expat Exchange and social media.

1. Go to the filter section where you want to add your first item. Use the filters to narrow results to your chosen location, category, etc.
2. Click the "List" icon on the top right of the item's box. In the field next to "Create New List," enter your list title.
3. Click "Create New List." The title will appear with a check mark, confirming the list was created and the item added.

Keep adding items to your list by clicking the "List" icon next to each one, then checking the box for your list. You can add additional items to your list in the future.

1. Click the "Lists" link at the top of the page. Use "My Lists" in the left navigation (or "Show List Filters" on mobile) to find your new list, or browse until you locate it.
2. Click "Edit List" at the top of your list. Add an introductory paragraph and upload a photo related to your list’s subject.
3. If this is your first list, add your bio, name, and personal photo so they can be used on this and future lists.
4. Categorize your list by selecting the relevant countries, cities, and subject areas.
5. Click "Save List Settings"

1. When you're ready to publish your list. Select Publish and click "Save List Settings" Again
2. Wait about 30 minutes for our system to create a thumbnail and social media sized photo.
3. After it's published, you can add additional items, edit your intro paragraph or photo at any time. After you click "Save List Settings" again, it will go through our system review (filters out bots & spam) and be live again shortly.
