What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Addis Ababa. They wrote...

"Expats in Addis Ababa often find the language barrier to be one of the most challenging aspects of the local culture. Additionally, the city's traffic can be overwhelming and navigating the public transportation system can be difficult. Furthermore, the city's infrastructure can be unreliable, making it difficult to access basic services. Additionally, the city's cultural norms and expectations can be difficult to understand for those who are not familiar with the local culture," remarked another expat who made the move to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
