"Expats in Amman, often find the language barrier to be one of the most challenging aspects of the local culture, as not everyone speaks English, and learning Arabic can be difficult. Additionally, they may struggle with the conservative nature of Jordanian society, particularly when it comes to gender roles and expectations. The pace of life in Amman can also be a challenge, as it is generally slower than what many expats are used to, and punctuality is not always a priority. Furthermore, navigating the local bureaucracy and dealing with the lack of clear information can be frustrating for expats. Lastly, adapting to the local customs and traditions, such as the call to prayer and the importance of hospitality, may take some time for expats to fully understand and appreciate," explained one expat living in Amman, Jordan.
