What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Suwon. They wrote...
"One of the most challenging aspects of the local culture for expats in Suwon is the language barrier. Many locals do not speak English, making it difficult for expats to communicate and navigate their way around the city. Additionally, the cultural norms and expectations can be difficult to understand, as they are often quite different from those of other countries. For example, the concept of personal space is much smaller in Korea than in many other countries, and it is important to be aware of this when interacting with locals. Finally, the food can be a challenge for expats, as many of the dishes are quite spicy and unfamiliar," explained one expat living in Suwon, Korea.
