What are healthcare services like in Inverness?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Inverness. They wrote...

"Inverness, boasts a robust healthcare system with a range of services available to residents and visitors. The city is home to Raigmore Hospital, the main hospital in the Highlands, which provides a wide array of services including emergency treatment, maternity care, and specialist services. There are also several general practitioner clinics and dental practices throughout the city, ensuring accessible primary care for all. Mental health services are also available, with resources and support provided by both the NHS and private organisations. Pharmacies are well-distributed across the city, providing prescription services and over-the-counter medication. For elderly residents, there are numerous care homes and assisted living facilities, as well as home care services. The healthcare system in Inverness is largely public, funded by the National Health Service (NHS) Scotland, but there are also private healthcare options available," remarked another expat who made the move to Inverness, Scotland.
