What are healthcare services like in St Andrews?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in St Andrews. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in St Andrews are primarily provided by the National Health Service (NHS) Scotland. The town has a community hospital, St Andrews Community Hospital, which offers a range of services including minor injury care, palliative care, and rehabilitation. There are also several general practitioner (GP) surgeries in the town where residents can access primary care services. For more specialized treatment, residents may need to travel to larger hospitals in nearby cities. Mental health services are also available, provided by NHS as well as private practitioners. Dental care is provided by both NHS and private dentists. Pharmacies are available throughout the town for prescription services and over-the-counter medications. The University of St Andrews also has a Student Health Services department that provides healthcare to students," remarked another expat in St Andrews, Scotland.
