What are healthcare services like in Petite Martinique?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Petite Martinique. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Petite Martinique are quite basic due to its small size and remote location. The island has a small health clinic that provides primary healthcare services to the residents. This includes basic medical consultations, minor surgeries, and maternal and child health services. For more complex medical conditions and emergencies, patients often have to travel to the main island of Grenada or to other nearby islands with larger hospitals and more specialized healthcare facilities. The healthcare staff on the island typically includes a few nurses and a visiting doctor who comes in from Grenada periodically. Despite the limitations, the healthcare services in Petite Martinique are generally free or low-cost, as they are subsidized by the government of Grenada. However, access to certain types of care, such as mental health services or specialized surgeries, can be challenging due to the lack of resources on the island," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Petite Martinique, Grenada.
