moving to alger

im planning to cross the world from mexico to algers, algeria in summer .. im going to sell everything and leave everything behind ...
i would like to know how is the life there .. cost of living ? .. transportation .. food ..
and also how expensive is to rent a house in algiers ..
i only speak spanish and english but i have a friend there who can help me with french and arabs ..
well i expect this can be the trip of my life and who knows .. maybe im not comming back ...
