safety in Algeria, Oran

Hello,
I would like to ask abou safety situation in Algeria. Especially in big cities like Oran or Alger.
I suppose to go work there for half year and I don't exactly know what to expect like foreigner.
Can you give me some advice to make a picture about safety and political situation, and staff around...
I saw there wasn't rush like in Egypt or Tunis but is it ok now or is there a risk to go?
