Boat ownership life/tips/cost

Hi, my wife and I are preparing for a potential move to Bermuda from the US. I'm tentatively looking into buying a boat when we move out there.

I know to start small/cheap and that Boston Whalers are recommended. Anyone here have experience with boat ownership in Bermuda - and have any tips to share?

What are dock costs - can you find maintenance services on the island - is there a big boating culture there? Just looking at it on google maps it looks like there are a lot of boats around the island. I haven't been there yet but plan to visit ASAP.
