Moving to Cananda

Hi Guys,
My wife and I are also considering moving to Canada, infact our permanent residence application is allready in. I would to ask if someone can help us choose a city to live in. We are currently living in Cape Town and I am in the IT industry. I am 30 and my wife is 27. We are considering either toronto or ottawa but safety is our primary concern. I have read that toronto has crime but what extent of crime? Our second priority would be to live close to the ocean with a mild climate? Also, where does most of the south africans live?
