What is the point

A repost from my comments on Colombia Reports:

I live in Arboletes and what transpired today was completely out of control. The entire city, 35,000 people stayed in thier homes. No motorcycles, no cars, no emergency services, nothing. You could not buy a bag of milk or a cube of sugar.

The really frightening part was the the police left too. Compleatly abandoned the citizens. It was a ghost town. I had planed a trip to Monteria. I walked to the main police station and there were several officers inside. When I asked about security, they called to some other station and told me I could go if I like but there is no police or army presence between Arboletes and Monteria, 65 kilometers.

Sure enough the road was totally vacant, not a soul.

Personaly I did not feel in danger. The entire city, the local police and the military, what a bunch of lazy cowards. The least they could do is have some kind of military presence. Insure the citizens that they are not abandoned. The citizens could at least join together, show some solidarity, even wear an arm band saying no more!

All they did was cowar in thier holms. Hide away like children.

Que lastima......
