I am only living here(Medellin) a short period (2 years)
The biggest advantage was bang for my buck.
I know they may never find peoples US assets.
But to me its akin to living without health insurance.
Why do it? Unless you need to.
I also have met some wonderful people in Colombia.
The country is beautiful.
Cost of living drove me from Costa Rica.
If someone has a decent US pension and a 401K
Colombia is probably the most expensive latin American country.
I get it people who live in a certain country believe there is no other country better.
I am considering splitting my time between Buenos Aires/Medellin
Cuenca/Medellin
Medellin for me is incredible but the financial climate is changing even more.
If you had to split your time in another country which would you chose.
I am single and still enjoy dating age appropriate women and like a vibrant expat community which Medellin has.
