FYI, as usually only bad news or bad experiences get reported here, I thought I would give a positive.
Last December I took out a SURA SALUD plan, knowing my US insurance would be worthless in Colombia. I didn't even think of the travel coverage it offers.
I returned to the USA in April and 2 weeks in I started suffering from a kidney stone...1st thing the.doctor wanted was a CT scan. My significant other, God Bless her, contacts SURA and they said to go to a specific hospital ER in my town and they would cover it. While skeptical I went.
5000+ dollars later I was worried (ER much more expensive than just scheduling one). Then, about 2 weeks ago I got a text from the hospital thanking me for payment in full!
I also used it when I tweaked my back in March and received several physical therapy treatments for 18000 Cop each.
Something to consider ?
