I’m curious who everyone’s favorite taxi services are in Colombia and why.
I’ve only used Uber, Didi and InDrive to any extent. I stopped using Uber due to many bad experiences (drivers cancel frequently) and their seemingly higher cost than the others. I now switch off between using Didi and InDrive.
InDrive differentiates itself by using a fare negotiation system. The customer makes an offer and the driver either accepts or counteroffers. I find that this is not always, or even usually cheaper than Didi, but it has other advantages. Unlike the other services, the app gives one the ability to choose the driver. That enables you to choose a driver with a high rating and, most important to me, it lets you choose a driver that’s closest to you which minimizes the wait. I generally offer 1000-5000 cop more than what Didi charges and that enables me to get a ride fast.
Didi seems to work well also. It’s inexpensive and I don’t have a huge problem with cancellations. The downside is that after you click “find a driver,” you’re not given a choice of drivers. That is how they all work except InDrive. Far too many times I get paired up with a driver that’s far away and I need to cancel if I want a driver that’s closer. I generally use Didi when time is not a factor.
