moving to cyprus

my partner and i wish to move to cyprus, and live in the area peyia, we are not sure how to go about this.we will both be working full time, tom is a painter and decorator by trade, and an all rounder, we wish to rent for the first year.so please could someone give us some info on what to do. our view is to buy and stay long term. but we need to know how to go about this thank you carol and tom
