Darmstadt broad base info request

New to Darmstadt, non-military...so, any recommendations for health care, book discussion groups, library facilities, good hair cuts (have seen some great cuts, but my German is too basic to sidle up with a request). Bought an old Nissan so probably will need a mechanic sooner rather than later. Which is preferred grocery store? What's fun to do in and around Darmstadt? Any suggestions/ideas welcomed with gratitude.
