Last Minute Red Tape in the US

Hello,
I will be moving within this next year to the Nuremburg area. I have read books and website after website on all that must be done to remain in Germany, Aclimate to Germany, Work, Eat, Sleep, and Drink in Germany; However, I havent read or heard a single scrap about anything I have to clear up with the US before I leave...if anything. My Question. Does anyone know if there are any Taxes that need to be paid, any government agencies that need to be notified, anything along those lines.
Just covering my tracks so I dont get any surprises when I come back to the US for Visits >:). Thx For your time, Cya Soon. -Benjamin
