Temp. housing in Esslingen area

My husband is (hopefully) going to be attending school in Esslingen for three months (April 1-July1, 2004). We are having a difficult time finding housing! The university has given us an option of renting 2 dorm rooms for 2452,00 Euro total. Is that the best option--does anyone know of any resources for temporary housing? Any help would be appreciated!!
