Housing in Dusseldorf

Our family is moving to the Dusseldorf area. My husband's company is west of the city. Can anyone recommend any desirable suburbs/areas to live in. We have 2 children so we will need to access schools in the city but also want to minimize my husbands commute. Any help would be appreciated!!
