Hi! I'm 25 and moved to Leipzig to be with my girlfriend (and for the adventure) in March 2004. I thought it would be no problem to find a job once I got here but it's been over a year and still nothing. I signed up for an english speaking business degree program at a university in order to stay here legally. However, I already have a BS in Biology and about 2 years of lab experience. Being unemployed is quite depressing as many Germans can tell you. I REALLY want to stay in Germany and so does my girlfriend (we're considering marriage) but the job situation has got me questioning if this is the best place to be. Fortunately, she has a really could job...she's supporting both of us actually. There are thousands of jobs waiting for me back in the States...but that's not Germany now is it??? If anyone has any advice, PLEASE give me some!!! We have no problem with moving to another area of Germany...or even another German-speaking part of Europe.
