Considering move to Frankfurt

My husband has been offered a job in Frankfurt. I'm from the New Orleans area, empty nester, but have 3 small dogs and 2 cats. This job will probably last 2 years and pay in the 250k range. I keep reading how much more the cost of living is there, etc....... In reading about real estate, I've pretty much ruled out buying a house (we should only be there 2 years), just will rent... I'm kind of at a loss as to even where to begin???? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
