moving to freiburg

hi am an aussie who is currently living in the uk. my boyfriend is a citizen of the uk and is moving to germany to do a years work experience.
i am going to go with him, i know i can get a visa to live there for twelve months, but does anyone know how i can go about getting a work visa there?
also, if anyone has any tips about getting a house we would greatly appreciate it!
